Product Description
Extruded Honeycomb Ceramic Filter for Foundry Molten Metal Castings Filtration

Initially, honeycomb ceramics were used as heat carrier or catalyst carrier. Later, the development of casting and filtration technology expanded another application field for it, and it was also the earliest ceramic filter used. The injection-type straight-hole ceramic filter screen is currently only produced abroad, and there is no domestic manufacturer. Dry-pressed straight-hole ceramic filter is the latest type of filter, but its development is slow because of its complex equipment and technical difficulty. Compared with these three filters, the dry-pressed straight-hole ceramic filter has the advantages of good appearance flatness, good dimensional accuracy, and the highest strength at room temperature, and is more and more valued by foundry manufacturers, especially for automated production lines.
Extruded Ceramic Filters or Honeycomb ceramic filter can effectively capture inclusions and reduce turbulence of the molten metal. Mullite based ceramic material could withstand heavy pouring thermal shock and extreme pouring temperature. The cellular design also provides an engineered balance between flow rate and strength. The extruded ceramic filters have excellent properties of precise dimension, good thermal stability, high specific surface area and resistance to acid and alkali. The extruded ceramic filters are applicable to wide and extensive filtration applications of ferrous and non-ferrous metal castings.
